Useful properties of chocolate negate the sugar and fat in its composition - scientists
Researchers from the UK found that although chocolate is good for health and heart and blood vessels, but sugar and fat in the chocolate bars negate its beneficial properties
As the British Medical Journal, has previously been shown that chocolate is still good for the heart and blood vessels among limited groups of the population - pregnant women, children or the elderly. But scientists have not been able to draw general conclusions on the effect of chocolate on the cardiovascular system of the side effects of chocolate bars and other confectionery products - obesity and diabetes, reports RIA Novato.
Each year, according to WHOM, heart attacks and other heart diseases take the lives of 17 million. Previously it was thought that regular consumption of small amounts of chocolate improves the cardiovascular system and reduces the risk of heart attack.
Scientists led by Oscar Franco, University of Cambridge United Kingdom analyzed seven research papers on the effects of chocolate on the cardiovascular system. The researchers were divided into pairs, and independently studied to compare the results of work. The total number of participants in all seven studies was 114 thousand people, among who were residents of the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Japan. Among them were both healthy and people with diabetes, kidney disease and other diseases.
As it turned out, five of the seven papers suggest that eating chocolate reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease. For example, eating large quantities of chocolate can be a 37% decrease risk of cardiovascular disease, and 29% - a stroke. On the other hand, no group of scientists found a link between chocolate and heart failure.
