The group of Taiwanese doctors concluded that even 15 minutes of physical activity per day has beneficial effects on health
Published in the Lancet article of Taiwanese doctors led by Dr. Chi-Wen Pan, representing the National Institute for Medical Research, and Jackson Puy Vai Man from National Taiwan Sport University, argues in favor of the fact that even brief daily exercise improve health and increase life, writes Kompyulenta .
Arguments weighty: it is data on 416 175 inhabitants of Taiwan, from 1996 to 2008 participated in screening programs, which lasted an average of 8 years.
Screened regularly people were divided into five groups according to their physical activity (not practiced at all, to practice a little, medium, and a lot a lot). The researchers counted the risk of death and life expectancy for each group.
Compared with quite motionless, immobile, the Taiwanese is spent on physical education only 92 minutes a week (just over 15 minutes a day) was 14% lower risk of dying from arbitrary reasons, and by 10% - from cancer. Their life expectancy was an average of three years earlier. Every additional 15 minutes of exercise a day, according to calculations of physicians, decreased the likelihood of death by 4% and the probability of death from cancer by 1%. This pattern was true for both sexes and all ages.
Researchers hope that the dissemination of information will give people a hand maharishi to understand that not all is lost, and get out of sofas, to make small but significant effort.
